PlantCue – Privacy Policy

PlantCue (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a free‑to‑download mobile application that helps you care for your plants. We respect your privacy and design the app to collect as little personal information as possible. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the limited circumstances in which we may share it. By using PlantCue, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information above for:

Core functionality – Tailoring watering reminders with local weather data and displaying the photos you add.
Diagnostics – Understanding app stability (crash logs and anonymized usage statistics) so we can improve performance.

3. Third‑Party Services

PlantCue currently contains no advertising SDKs and does not transmit your personal information to marketing partners. The following third‑party component may be integrated:

3.1 RevenueCat

The app integrates the RevenueCat SDK, which captures anonymized analytics related to in‑app purchases and subscriptions. You can find RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy here.

4. Data Storage & Retention

We do not operate our own backend servers. All plant photos remain on your device and in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit); they are end‑to‑end encrypted and inaccessible to us.
Diagnostic data (e.g., crash logs) are retained by Apple, after which they are automatically deleted or anonymized.
Device identifiers used for analytics are reset when you uninstall the app.

5. Sharing & Transfers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only:

with trusted service providers—including those described in Section 3 and any we may engage in the future to power new features—who process data solely on our behalf;
to comply with a lawful request or obligation; and/or
with your explicit consent.

6. Your Choices

Because we do not keep user accounts, there is no profile to delete. You can, however:

Withdraw location access at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Disable Apple app analytics in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Delete photos by removing them from your PlantCue library; they will be deleted from iCloud on the next sync.
Uninstall the app to erase all app data stored on your device.

7. Children’s Privacy

PlantCue is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:

Post the new version on our website (plantcue.app/privacy) along with an update log summarizing the key changes; and
Revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page.

Your continued use of PlantCue after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
